Support
Start with your existing NUT server, or explore the app with demo data.
What do I need?
An iPhone running iOS 18 or later and an existing Network UPS Tools (NUT) server publishing your UPS information. Your iPhone must be able to reach it over your local network or VPN. UPS Monitor is a companion client; NUT continues to communicate with the UPS hardware.
To install and configure your server, see the official NUT documentation.
You can also explore the official NUT repository on GitHub.
How do I set up my server?
Open Settings, enter your NUT server host and port (usually 3493), and add credentials only if your server requires them. Tap Test Connection, select the UPS and save. Allow local network access when iOS asks.
Can I view several UPS devices?
Yes. Save connections from Connections. Choose the connection you want to view, then select a UPS on the dashboard if that server publishes several devices. Readings and alerts apply to the selected UPS.
How do I open charts and history?
Tap a dashboard metric card to open its chart. Saved History shows available metrics; Events shows observed events. Choose a 1, 6, 12 or 24-hour range. History stays on your device for up to 7 days. Use the chart menu to export or clear it.
Which events are recorded?
Switching to battery, utility power returning, low battery and significant input voltage drops. Set thresholds in Settings. Changes are detected only while the app is active and connected; an event occurring entirely during a pause may not be recorded.
Will alerts work when I close the app?
No. Event Notifications enables optional local alerts for events detected during an active connection. Monitoring pauses when iOS puts the app in the background or you close it. This version has no push notifications or external monitoring service.
Why is a metric missing?
Each UPS and NUT driver publishes different variables. The app hides unavailable metrics. Power shown with ≈ is estimated from nominal power and load; it is not a direct measurement.
How do I fix a connection error?
Check the host, port and whether your NUT server accepts connections from the iPhone. Check iOS local network permission and your Wi-Fi or VPN connection. Test Connection and Debug Mode show diagnostics, response time and available variables.
Is the connection encrypted?
NUT TCP in this version is unencrypted. Use a trusted network or your own VPN. The app connects directly to your server; no additional UPS Monitor backend is needed.
Can I try the app without a UPS?
Tap Explore Demo on the initial screen or in Settings. Sample data is clearly labelled. Switch among Online, On Battery, Low Battery and Offline scenarios. Exit restores your real configuration without changing its data.
Where is my data and how do I delete it?
Connections, preferences and history stay on your device. Passwords are stored in Keychain. Delete connections or clear a UPS history from its chart menu. Removing a connection keeps its history until it expires or you clear it.
